New Ulm 79, Waseca 38
WASECA — Brooklyn Lewis scored 32 points for New Ulm on Friday night to lead the Eagles to a 79-38 rout over Waseca in a Big South Conference girls basketball game.
Lewis also had nine steals, while Leah Brustad had 16 points and seven rebounds. Maggie Joyce also had 13 points and seven rebounds for the Eagles.
The Eagles, now 9-3 overall and 5-1 in the conference, host Tri-City United at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Springfield 68, Redwood Valley 62
REDWOOD FALLS — Springfield held on for a 68-62 win over Redwood Valley on Friday night in a nonconference boys basketball game.
Both teams struggled to find their shot from beyond the arc, with the Tigers shooting 25% from 3 and the Cardinals shooting 19.4%. The Tigers shot better inside the paint, however, to scratch out the win, shooting 45.5% from the floor to Redwood Valley’s 40.3%.
Madden Lendt led the Tigers with 21 points, nine rebounds, three assists and four steals, while Brecken Heiling had 12 points and eight rebounds and Isaac Fredin had 10 points and four rebounds. The Tigers also got 8 points apiece from Parker Kuehn and Aiden Moriarty, with Kuehn adding seven rebounds and five assists and Moriarty adding six rebounds.
Springfield, winners of five straight and now 9-3 on the season, host BOLD in a 6 p.m. nonconference game Monday.

PREP WRESTLING
NUA 40, St. Peter 22
ST. PETER — New Ulm Area took down St. Peter 40-22 on Thursday night in a Big South Conference wrestling dual.
Chase Wilson opened the night at 107 for NUA with a 10-8 decision over Dominick Hoffer, while Regan Johnson kept the Eagles rolling at 114 pounds with an 8-6 decision over Elijah Mercado to put New Ulm up 6-0 on the night. Chael Johnson pinned Dylan Jackson in 15 seconds at 121 to put NUA up 12-0.
St. Peter got a win back at 127 when Liam Jensen pinned Brayden Miller in 4:27, but NUA got the pin back courtesy of Alex Portner at 133 when he pinned Manuel Gomez in 2:12.
Kane Johnson (139) got a 17-1 tech fall over Harlan Sinclair in 3:18, while Elijah Rieser (145) got a tech fall of his own, 21-4, in 3:03 over Isaih Hesse.
At 152, St. Peter’s Brock Guth earned a 16-13 decision over Tegan Kral, while St. Peter’s Deontre Torres earned an 11-8 decision over Braxton Kiecker at 160. NUA got another fall, this time from Candon Briggs in 41 seconds when he pinned Colton Travaille at 172.
St. Peter’s Rylan Moelter (189) earned a 19-4 tech fall in 4:17 over Cole Voges, while NUA’s Lane Ruch pinned Joseph Connor in 4:40 at 215 pounds. St. Peter ended the night at heavyweight with a win when Kemper Ely earned a 15-0 tech fall in 4:28 over Emerson Johnson.

LSH 75, Sibley East 68
LE SUEUR — The Sibley East Wolverines fell to Le Sueur-Henderson 75-68 on Thursday night in a South Central Conference boys basketball game.
Ezra Weber led the Wolverines with 24 points and five rebounds, while Cole Bauer had 17 points, three rebounds and two steals. Also for Sibley East, Will Feterl added 14 points and five rebounds, while Riley Bussler added 7 points, seven assists, six rebounds and two steals.
Sibley East (3-9) hosts Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial in a conference game on Tuesday night.
