Wabasso 93, BLHS 34

HECTOR — Wabasso’s Brayden Guetter surpassed 1,000 career points during a 93-34 win over Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart in a Tomahawk Division boys basketball game on Thursday.

Guetter led the Rabbits with 29 points, five rebounds and four assists, while Caden Frericks had 16 points, 13 rebounds and three assists. Tavyn Larson and Brooks Baune each added 12 points for Wabasso.

Cameron McColley led the Mustangs with 17 points.

Wabasso (13-0, 9-0) hosts Canby on Monday, while BLHS (1-11, 0-8) hosts Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey on Saturday.

Nicollet 77, Alden-Conger 41

ALDEN — Nicollet cruised by Alden-Conger 77-41 in a Valley Division boys basketball game on Thursday.

Carson Kettner led the Raiders with 25 points and 14 rebounds, while Abe Madson had 17 points. Henry Kennedy added 11 points and six rebounds.

Nicollet (10-3, 6-1) hosts Cleveland on Tuesday.

Cleveland 76, Madelia 61

CLEVELAND — Madelia suffered its first defeat of the season with a 76-61 loss to Cleveland Thursday in a Valley Division boys basketball game.

Tate Becker led the Blackhawks with 24 points, 14 rebounds, five steals and three assists, while Dalton Tatro had 15 points. Bryce Borkenhagen added 14 points.

Madelia (9-1, 6-1) plays at Heron Lake-Okebena/Fulda on Friday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

St. Mary’s 72, Cathedral 33

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s rolled to a 72-33 victory over New Ulm Cathedral Thursday in a Tomahawk Division girls basketball game.

Morgan Mathiowetz led the Knights with 30 points, seven rebounds and three assists, while Olivia Schieffert had 18 points and three steals. Brynne Ibberson added 12 points, three assists and three steals.

Shay Wilfahrt paced the Greyhounds with 11 points, while Jayde Altermatt had 7 points.

St. Mary’s (14-0, 10-0) and Cathedral (5-9, 3-6) rematch at Cathedral on Monday.

Redwood Valley 22

MORGAN — Cedar Mountain cruised by Redwood Valley 82-22 in a nonconference girls basketball game on Thursday.

Kendra Erickson led the Cougars with 28 points, seven rebounds, eight steals and three assists, while Aubrey Steffl had 24 points, six rebounds, eight assists and five steals. Kendra Lueck added 16 points, seven rebounds and seven steals.

Cedar Mountain (11-2) hosts Lester Prairie on Friday.

HECTOR — Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart rolled Wabasso 73-34 in a Tomahawk Division girls basketball game on Thursday.

Lauren Hubin led the Mustangs with 24 points, while Chloe Schultz had 17 points. Callie Hable added 9 points.

Cassie Bliss led the Rabbits with 12 points and five rebounds, while Kenley Guetter had 10 points and 13 rebounds with three assists. Ava Samyn added 7 points and 10 rebounds.

BLHS (7-4, 4-4) plays at Lester Prairie on Monday, while Wabasso (6-10, 4-6) plays at Mankato Loyola on Saturday.

GRANADA — Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther downed Springfield 64-52 in a nonconference girls basketball game on Thursday.

Olivia Milbrath led the Tigers with 18 points, while Jada Reese had 15 points.

MANKATO — Mankato East downed New Ulm 7-0 in a nonconference girls hockey game on Thursday.
