FALCON HEIGHTS — Several area athletes competed in the Class A State Cross-Country Meet on Saturday, led by Wabasso’s Elise Leopold, who placed 27th out of 160 runners with a time of 19:37.6.

Also for the girls, Sibley East’s Paige Gardiner placed 28th with a time of 19:37.0, and Minnesota Valley Lutheran’s Natalie Matzke placed 48th with a time of 20:04.4.

For the boys, Sibley East’s Julio Alejandro placed 49th with a time of 17:01. Wabasso’s Andrew Morrin placed 59th (17:03.4), while Sibley East’s Gage Horstman took 90th (17:30.3). Minnesota Valley Lutheran’s Jeremy Feistner took 108th (17:45.9), and Sibley East’s Mausten Krueger finished 117th (17:57.2). Madelia’s Caleb DeCann placed 121st (18:05.0), and Sibley East’s Ellyott Allen took 144th (18:45.2). Nolan Fisher (20:12.4), Tanner Johnson (20:21.1) and Jesse Ballalatak (20:22.4) placed 156th, 157th and 158th, respectively.
