SHERBURN — Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop cruised by Martin County West 42-22 in a Mid-South District, Gold Subdistrict football game on Friday.

Matthew Lee led the Firebirds with 128 yards rushing and three touchdowns, while Garrett Stegeman had 80 yards rushing and a touchdown. Owen Swenson added 106 yards rushing and a touchdown, as well as 60 yards passing and a score, all to Lee. Cayson Gosewisch had 59 yards rushing. Defensively, Lee had seven tackles, while Jose Oscar Farias banda had five tackles, a sack and a safety. Swenson had an interception and three tackles, while Luke Bastian had six tackles.

GFW (3-2) plays at Lester Prairie on Friday.

Springfield 54, BOLD 6

OLIVIA — Springfield rolled BOLD 54-6 in a Mid-South District, Purple Subdistrict football game on Friday.

Parker Kuehn had 367 yards passing and four touchdowns, while Madden Lendt had seven receptions for 93 yards and a score. Isaac Fredin had five receptions for 92 yards and two TDs, while Aiden Moriarty had five receptions for 68 yards and 16 yards rushing with a score. Dane Fast had one catch for six yards and a score. Paytin Johnson had 82 yards rushing, Carter Jackson had 44 yards rushing, Colten Sell had 21 yards rushing and a score, and Adiel Trevino had 46 yards rushing and a score. Defensively, Eli Trevino an Leo Hovland each had seven tackles, while Paytin Johnson had an interception and a forced fumble, which was recovered by Tyson Horkey.

Springfield (5-0) plays at Sleepy Eye United on Friday.

Mayer Lutheran 29, SEU 14

SLEEPY EYE — Mayer Lutheran defeated Sleepy Eye United 29-14 in a nondistrict football game on Friday.

Brayden Heiderscheidt had 114 yards passing and a touchdown for SEU, while Carson Uecker had 121 yards receiving and a touchdown. Uecker also had an interception returned 95 yards for a score, and Nick Tauer had 11 total tackles and Riley Voigt had 10 total tackles.

SEU (1-4) hosts Springfield on Friday.

Cedar Mountain 30

MORGAN — Red Rock Central downed Cedar Mountain 45-30 in a Nine-man south District, West Subdistrict football game on Friday.

Jackson Guetter led the Cougars with 90 yards rushing and 28 yards receiving, while Stan Heiling had 76 yards rushing. Thomas Dahmes added 52 yards receiving. Carson Schiller was 5 for 9 with 58 yards passing. Defensively, Guetter had seven tackles, and Heilling and Schiller added six.

Cedar Mountain (2-3) play at Renville County West on Saturday, Oct. 4.

JACKSON — Jackson County Central defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran 49-7 in a Mid-South District, Brown Subdistrict football game on Friday.
