REDWOOD FALLS – “The Big House” was alive with high-speed action Sunday night as fans packed the stands for a thrilling lineup of races across five classes at Redwood Speedway. From dominant wire-to-wire wins to hard-fought battles for the podium, there was plenty of excitement for racing fans of all ages.

Danube Auto Works Sport Mods

The night kicked off with the Danube Auto Works Sport Mods, and the 7L of Eric Larson set the tone early. Starting on the front row, Larson dominated the race from start to finish, fending off the persistent 23E of Broddy Enter. While Larson and Enter pulled away, the real action unfolded behind them as the 33 of Jordan Minie, the 86W of Willy Kirk, and the 11 of Cole Hesse battled fiercely for third. It was Kirk who ultimately secured the final podium spot, completing a thrilling top three.

Evolution Ag Tech Hobby Stocks

The Evolution Ag Tech Hobby Stocks proved to be the class to watch as Joseph Domeier of Redwood Falls grabbed the early lead in the 21, closely followed by the 17 of Brad Jones from New Ulm. The 75C of Cory Probst and the 69 of Roger Krebs mixed it up in a four-car fight for the front. A lap-two caution came out when Probst and Krebs made contact entering turn three, but on the restart, Jones controlled the race — until Lap 9 when Krebs took over and never looked back. Krebs claimed his first feature win of the season, with Jones finishing second and Domeier rounding out the podium.

Mager Construction IMCA Modifieds

The Mager Construction IMCA Modifieds provided fans with more fast-paced action. Chad Porter of Madison Lake jumped to the early lead in the 12, but his advantage didn’t last long. The 5 of Brandon Beckendorf surged past out of turn two and set a relentless pace, stretching a two-second margin to take the win. Porter finished second, while Dan Menk in the 19M took third.

IMCA Sport Compacts

The IMCA Sport Compacts closed out the middle of the program, though heat-race issues left just four cars in the feature. Starting from the pole, Josh Backstrom of Pillager controlled the 19 machine from green to checkered, keeping the field at bay. David Marshall in the 76 claimed second, and Chris Vande Kieft, fresh off a recent victory at Redwood, finished third in the 28C.

J&S Trucking IMCA Stock Cars

The night wrapped up with the J&S Trucking IMCA Stock Cars, a class “too tough to tame.” Shaun Bruns in the 71D battled for the lead with Brandon Beckendorf’s XX machine, but a hood flying up on Bruns’ car brought out a caution. On the restart, Beckendorf stormed to his second feature win of the night, leaving the field over five seconds behind. Jim Horejsi in the 21 finished second, and Ken Tietz in the 110 came in third. Fans are already looking forward to next week’s Gegner Memorial Race, which promises big money action in the Hobby Stock division.

Sunday night at Redwood Speedway delivered everything fans could hope for: fast cars, close battles, and memorable performances from top drivers like Brandon Beckendorf, Eric Larson, and Roger Krebs. With the Gegner Memorial Race coming up next week, “The Big House” is poised to provide even more high-octane excitement.
