The score remained intact at 3-1 for much of the second period, but MLC gained some more momentum when they made it 4-1 after a penalty kick goal from Rachel Schoeneck.
MLC didn’t stop there and added on a couple more goals in the final three minutes of game time as Marissa Buege converted her shot into a score, while Schoeneck tacked on another for good measure in the final minute.
The Knights dominated the ball and doubled up the Cougars in total shots, 26-13, while holding a 16-2 advantage in shots on target, further showing how impressive the MLC defense played.
