ARLINGTON — New cars in victory lane provided an exciting night of racing at Arlington Raceway for the Dave’s Mini Donuts & Northfork Custom Meats Kids Night on Saturday.

Dillon Richards made the trip up from Nebraska count as he was looking for national IMCA Hobby points.

There were three yellow flags early in the race that helped him gain positions and by lap 6 he was directly behind track leader Cory Probst, then another yellow came out. That enabled Richards to take the lead from RJ Esqueda with Jonathan Schroeder following him to the front. Probst had troubles and shuffled back spots and on Lap 9 went into the pit ending his night. Richards was able to maintain the lead for the duration working around lapped traffic to win the race. Schroeder took second, George Motto took third and Chad Volk finished fourth.

David Marshall led the first three laps of the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact feature. The first yellow came out when Jason Bolte had troubles on the original line up which saw him end his racing night. The rest of the race was flawless as Alan Lahr took over the top spot on Lap 4 and won the race.

A first lap yellow in the Olson Snowplowing & Lawn Care Outlaw Feature when Karl Hewitt hit a tire in Turn 1 and launched his car over the track, ending his feature race. Jared Salisbury resumed the lead on the restart but only for three laps as Kris Flewelling who had started next to Salisbury hammered down and took over the lead on Lap 4. Soon he had the company of Craig Groebner and Jesse Anderson. The three were side by side for laps and then another yellow came out when the 0x of Mark Oestreich’s car expired on the backstretch ending his night. On the restart, Anderson got around Groebner and was working on Flewelling but he held on to the lead and to win his first feature of the year. Anderson took second and Groebner took third.

The Arlington State Bank IMCA Northern Sport Modified feature went flag to flag, with Joey Reimers the early leader. By Lap 3, Broddy Enter got around Reimers and took over the lead. Reimers tried to work him on the high side but couldn’t get by. On the last lap, Zach Davis who had started 10th took over second place but couldn’t catch Enter as he took the checkers first.

The Rice Companies IMCA Sprint feature saw Owen Graf lead from start to finish to win the race. Mike Stien had engine troubles and left the race on the second lap. Brett Allen’s car had a scuffle with a tire which ended with front end damage. Andrew Allen who had been running in second the entire race also hit a tire in Turn 3 as he was trying to put pressure on Graf. He too had front end damage and ended up in the pit. That opened the door for Rob Rawson to gain spots but Graf got way out front quickly and won the race. Rawson took second and Justin Allen took third. As the cars were coming in for the checkered flag, Hannah Graf flipped over bringing out the red flag to finish the race. She was OK but unable to finish.

There were three different leaders in the B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car feature with flag to flag racing. The first leader was Chris Neisen from his front row start. He was soon being challenged by AJ Zimmerman, Zimmerman was able to get underneath Neisen in the turns and take over the lead. The two pulled away from the pack and were out front for several laps. Coming from the middle of the pack, Matt Speckman got around seven cars to challenge Zimmerman and almost got around him but coming out of Turn 2, something broke on his car and he exited on the backstretch. Dan Mackenthun saw what was happening in frothe nt of him and he was now in contention with Zimmerman to take over the lead. For the next five laps, the two were battling each other and as the checkered flag started waving Mackenthun got around Zimmerman to take the win at the line. Zimmerman took second and Josh Larsen took third.

Jason Schroeder led the first two laps of the Ottomotive Tire & Repair IMCA Modified feature but by Lap 3, Clint Hatlestad had command of the race. On the second lap, Curt Lund lost a spring which put him in the pit, on the fifth lap, Matt Looft had troubles ending his night. Hatlestad had the company of Dan Menk and then Trent Loverude but neither one could catch Hatlestad as he took the checkers first.
