Tigers down Reds in seven innings
SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Tigers rolled the Gibbon Reds 13-1 in seven innings in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game on Wednesday.
Brandon Wilhelmi earned the complete-game win, striking out 10 and allowing one run on eight hits. At the plate, Ryan Sturm was 4 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Jordan Milbrath was 2 for 5 with three RBIs and a run scored. Jacob Poehler was 2 for 2 with an RBI, while Kade Nachreiner was 1 for 2 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Tori Helget had a hit, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Alex Berkner took the loss for Gibbon, allowing seven runs on eight hits in three innings. At the plate, Devon Schwarzrock, Kaden Reike and Josh Wasmund all had two hits, while Ethan Schwarzrock had a hit and an RBI and Dominic Rose had a run scored.
Springfield (9-4) plays at Searles on Sunday, while Gibbon (6-8) plays at Lamberton on Sunday.
