Arndt, Wieland lead Eagles at Minnesota Skeet Shooting Championship

PRIOR LAKE — The New Ulm Eagles clay target team competed in the Minnesota Skeet Shooting Championship this past Thursday at the Minneapolis Gun Club, with Charlie Arndt leading the way.

Arndt also finished his season as an All-State shooter with a season average of 23, ranking him 21st of 444 skeet shooters in the state.

On Thursday, Arndt led the way by shooting 84 of 100 targets he saw, while Tilken Fruhwirth followed with an 83 out of 100. Tate Isaacson shot 81 of 100 targets, while Casey Koop and Ian Lee both hit 80 of 100 targets.

Overall for the event, New Ulm ranked ninth in Class AAA, ranking first in junior varsity and eighth in varsity.

One shooter placed first in the junior varsity female category, that shooter being Addysen Wieland, who hit 79 of 100 targets she saw.
