Sleepy Eye downs Springfield in legion ball

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye Post 7 defeated Springfield Post 257 13-2 in five innings in a legion baseball game on Tuesday.

Tyler Mathiowetz earned the win on the mound for Sleepy Eye, striking out three while allowing one run on two hits in two innings of work. Cody Schultz pitched two innings, striking out two and allowing one run on three hits. At the plate for Sleepy Eye, Kayden Klein was 2 for 3 with four RBIs, while Austin Uecker was 2 for 3 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Jon Petermann and Mathiowetz each had a hit, two RBIs and a run scored.

Noah Neperman took the loss for Springfield, striking out two while allowing nine runs, four earned, on five hits in two innings. At the plate, Madden Lendt was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, while Neperman had two hits. Jackson Ludewig had a hit and two RBIs.
