TEL roundup: Brewers shut down Grizzlies

NEW ULM — Sam Keckeisen and the New Ulm Brewers shut out the Searles Grizzlies 9-0 on Wednesday night at Johnson Park in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game.
Keckeisen struck out 12 in his complete-game shutout, allowing five hits and two walks along the way. Ayden Jensen led the Brewers at the dish by going 4 for 4 with a home run, four RBIs and two runs scored.
Andrew Peters also was 2 for 3 with a walk and three runs scored for the Brewers, while Colten Schaefer went 2 for 4, Cole Ranweiler was 1 for 2 with a walk, two RBIs and three runs scored and Justin Hoffmann doubled and drove in a run.
Isaiah Rieser led Searles at the plate, going 2 for 4. Nick Dewanz took the loss in 4 1/3 innings of work, allowing seven hits and two walks for seven earned runs while striking out four. Mark Schommer pitched 3 1/3 innings in relief and allowed three hits and four walks for one earned run while striking out six.
Sleepy Eye 8, Stark 3
SLEEPY EYE — The Sleepy Eye Indians put together a strong fourth, fifth and sixth innings to erase a one-run deficit and pull away for an 8-3 win over the Stark Longhorns on Wednesday in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game.
The Indians were led by Cody Schultz, who was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI, while Jon Petermann was 2 for 5 with a homer and three runs scored. Luke Mielke also was 2 for 5 with an RBI for the Indians, while Owen Weiss added a double and an RBI.
Nick Mielke pitched eight innings in the win for Sleepy Eye, allowing eight hits and a walk for three runs, one earned, while striking out five.
Nick Labat led Stark at the plate, going 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI, while Zach Haala and Arian Saenz each had a double.
Jon Kopacek took the loss in four innings pitched, allowing seven hits and a walk for five runs, three earned, while fanning one.
