HANSKA — The Hanska Lakers defeated the Springfield Tigers 8-4 in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game on Sunday.

Sam Knowles earned the complete-game win, striking out four while allowing two earned runs on 11 hits and no walks. At the plate for the Lakers, Brady Mosenden was 3 for 4 with a run scored, while Knowles was 2 for 4 with three RBIs. Kevin Larson was 2 for 5 with an RBI, while Tanner Wenniger was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Tanner Olson had two hits and two runs scored.

Noah Neperman took the loss for Springfield, striking out four while allowing five earned runs on eight hits in four innigs. Brandon Wilhelmi pitched four innings in relief, striking out one and allowing two earned runs on six hits. SLEEPY EYE — The Sleepy Eye Indians downed the Fairfax Cardinals 8-5 in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game on Sunday.

Marcus Martinez earned the win for Sleepy Eye, striking out seven while allowing two unearned runs on three hits in seven innings. At the plate, Matt Mielke was 3 for 5 with three RBIs and a run scored, while Cody Schultz and Nick Mielke each had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Ethan Louwagie took the loss for Fairfax, striking out two and allowing four earned runs on eight hits and two walks in four innings. At the plate, Andrew Willemssen was 1 for 5 with three RBIs, while Jacob Meyer was 2 for 5 with a run scored.

Sleepy Eye (3-2) hosts Stark on Wednesday, while Fairfax (1-6) plays at Courtland on Sunday.
