Friese, a member of the New Ulm boys track and field team and runner on the boys 4×100 relay team with Jackson Ocampo, Dain Barie and Jamison Portner, took first in the 4×100 Tuesday in a home invite with a time of 45.71. The team also has the school record in the event, which was achieved earlier this season in Mankato on April 10 when they ran a 43.79.

Q: What is your favorite

junk food?

A: Peanut butter crackers, the Ritz ones.

Q: What is your favorite band/musical artist?

A When I was a kid, Imagine Dragons. Now it’s probably Chris Stapleton or Jon Pardi.

Q: What is a dream vacation spot of yours?

A: I’ll say Alaska. Go fishing or do something like that, hiking, I like that stuff.

Q: What is a hobby of yours outside of sports?

A: Fishing or I like doing stuff with my hands, I’m pretty crafty. I like painting, woodwork, that kind of stuff.

A: Probably Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit.
