Madelia 62, RRC 42

MADELIA — Madelia earned its first win of the season on Saturday with a 62-42 win over Red Rock Central.

Katherine DeVlaeminck had 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists to lead the Blackhawks in the win, while Ashlynn Sweet had 16 points and eight rebounds. Alicia Lugo added 13 points, five rebounds and three assists, while Victoria Hemmingsen had 11 points.

The Blackhawks (1-7) are at Medford on Tuesday.

ARLINGTON — The Sibley East Wolverines fell to Watertown-Mayer 69-39 on Friday night in a nonconference boys basketball game.

Quintin DeVlaeminck led the Wolverines in the loss with 14 points, seven steals and three rebounds, while Riley Bussler added 9 points and three rebounds and Nate Colling had five rebounds and two assists.
