ST PAUL — Martin Luther College quarterback Brady Turriff was named as the UMAC Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 14- Oct. 20) for his performance against Greenville on Saturday.
The Knights fell to the Panthers 42-35 in an offensive battle, but the freshman quarterback’s effort kept MLC within striking distance, as they had a chance to send the game into overtime on their last possession in the fourth quarter. Turriff passed for over 330 yards for the second consecutive week, having a career-high in passing yards (337 yards) and touchdown passes (4). Turriff connected with Thomas Koelpin on a 78-yard touchdown over the middle of the defense in the first quarter and went 18-35 through the air against Greenville.
Turriff and the Knights return to the MLC bowl for a home contest with Westminster at 12 p.m. Saturday.
