Sunday Sub-State Jr. Legion roundup: Sleepy Eye goes 1-1

SPRINGFIELD — The Sleepy Eye Junior Legion baseball team started the Southwest Sub-State Junior Legion Baseball Tournament on Sunday with an 8-6 win over the host team Springfield before falling 5-3 to Luverne to end the night and fall into the elimination bracket.

Sleepy Eye will next play Slayton in a 4 p.m. game Monday back at Springfield in a win-or-go-home game. A win in that game moves the winner on to a 7 p.m. game with Luverne at 7 p.m. that same night. If Luverne loses its 7 p.m. Monday game, another 7 p.m. win-or-go-home game will be played Tuesday night.
