NEW ULM — Dylan Kopsesky’s two-run double in the bottom of the fifth inning broke a scoreless tie and lifted Mankato American to a 2-0 win over Elk River Sunday afternoon in the championship game of the 2024 Upper Midwest Classic at Johnson Park.

Owen Studtmann got the win for Mankato, with Nicholas Werk getting the save.

Mankato American got to the title game earlier in the day with an 8-6 win over Mankato National, while Elk River defeated Rosetown 16-8.
