Pidde’s walk-off winner lifts Leavenworth by Springfield in 12th

LEAVENWORTH — Sam Pidde’s RBI single in the bottom of the 12th inning lifted the Leavenworth Orioles to a 4-3 win over the Springfield Tigers on Wednesday night in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game.

Austin Uecker led the Orioles at the plate, going 3 for 5 with two RBIs, while Caden Evers went 1 for 3 with an RBI. Evers also got the mound win in 2 2/3 innings of relief, allowing one hit and three walks for no runs while striking out five. Jackson Huiras got the start on the mound for Leavenworth and went 9 1/3 innings, allowing seven hits and two walks for three runs while striking out 15.

Luke Boyle led the Tigers, going 3 for 6 with three RBIs. Justin Haugo got the start on the mound for Springfield and went nine innings, allowing seven hits and two walks for three runs while striking out 11. Tori Helget took the loss in 2 2/3 innings of relief, allowing two hits and a walk for two earned runs while fanning five.

Leavenworth moved to 7-1 in the TEL with the win, while Springfield dropped to 4-4.
