Springfield 50, TMB 14

TRACY — Third-seeded Springfield rolled over second-seeded Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 50-14 in the second round of the Section 3A Football Playoffs.

Jakob Nachreiner had 218 yards and six touchdowns passing, with Carter Olson earning 95 yards and four touchdowns receiving. Sam Pidde had 87 yards and a TD receiving, and Brayden Sturm added a receiving TD. On the ground, Ashton Toll had 71 yards, while Sam Rummel had 53 yards and a TD rushing. Defensively, Pidde had two interceptions, with Lucas Milbrath and Olson also getting interceptions. Aiden Moriarty and Rummel each had a sack.

Springfield (9-1) will take on top-seeded Sleepy Eye United at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Lester Prairie 22, GFW 0

LESTER PRAIRIE — Second-seeded Lester Prairie shut out third-seeded Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Saturday in a Section 2A football semifinals game.

LaDamien Gatlin-Coellner had two TD runs and a 2-point conversion run to lead Lester Prairie in the win, while Jackson Cacka capped the scoring in the fourth with a 15-yard TD run and 2-point run. Gatlin-Coellner also had two interceptions to lead the Bulldogs’ defense.

Owen Swenson led GFW with 13 carries for 60 yards, while Garret Schmidt had 10 carries for 37 yards and Justin Messner had eight carries for 33 yards. GFW quarterback Dominic Rose completed 5 of 14 passes for 41 yards and two interceptions, with his top completion going 24 yards to Schmidt.

Darren Messner had an interception and 4 1/2 tackles for GFW on defense, while Ashton Buboltz had 6 1/2 tackles and Swenson had 5 1/2 tackles.

GFW ends its season with a 7-3 record, while Lester Prairie plays in the section finals against top-seeded Mayer Lutheran on Friday night at New Prague High School.
