MINNEAPOLIS — The Martin Luther College men’s soccer team dropped its nonconference game to the Augsburg Auggies on Thursday evening 10-0.

The Auggies spread the wealth in their offensive production, with five different players scoring a goal, including two with multi-goal games (Harris, Janneh).

Augsburg wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, going up 2-0 in the opening minutes. MLC did their best to keep up with the Auggies in the first period, subbing in new players onto the field, but the speed and ball movement from Augsburg proved to be too much for MLC to match for the duration of the game.

As a team, Augsburg had 21 shots on goal, while MLC had a total of seven. Despite the loss, the Knights were able to empty their bench and multiple players earned some valuable playing time.

MLC (2-6) hopes to bounce back from the shutout with a conference game coming up next against Crown College. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. kickoff at the MLC soccer field.
