TEL roundup: Tigers blank Cardinals

SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Tigers shut out the Fairfax Cardinals 4-0 in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game on Wednesday.
Tori Helget took the win on the mound for Springfield, getting 11 strikeouts while allowing three hits and two walks in six innings pitched. At the plate for the Tigers, Ryan Sturm was 2 for 4 with an RBI, while Carer Ericson and Helget each added a hit and an RBI.
Isaac Louwagie took the loss for Fairfax, getting six strikeouts while allowing four earned runs on seven hits in eight innings pitched. Caden Hickle, Tom Lokensgard and Dylan Maiers each had a hit for the Cardinals.
Springfield (7-3) travels to Hanska on Friday. Fairfax (2-9) travels to Gibbon on Sunday, July 9.
Hanska 11, Gibbon 1 (7 innings)
HANSKA — The Hanska Lakers took down the Gibbon Reds 11-1 in seven innings in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game on Wednesday.
Branson Peterson earned the win for Hanska, getting six strikeouts while allowing one earned run on five hits in six innings pitched. At the plate, Aaron Portner was 4 for 4 with four RBIs for the Lakers, while Kevin Larson and Sam Knowles were each 3 for 4 with an RBI.
Nolan Huiras took the loss for Gibbon, getting three strikeouts while allowing five earned runs on 10 hits in four innings pitched. Brendan Kienlen lead the Reds at the plate, going 1 for 3 with an RBI.
Hanska (10-2) hosts Springfield on Friday. Gibbon (1-9) hosts Sleepy Eye on Saturday, July 8.

Leavenworth (4-6, TEL) rolled to an 11-1 win over Sleepy Eye (2-8, TEL) at home on Wednesday night, while Courtland (10-1, TEL) downed Searles (5-6, TEL) 13-1 in seven innings in Courtland.
