Sleepy Eye 12, St. James 3

ST. JAMES — Sleepy Eye Legion Post 7 downed St. James 12-3 on Tuesday night in a legion baseball game.

Austin Uecker led Sleepy Eye at the plate, going 3 for 5 with four RBIs, a triple and a double, while Arian Saenz was 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Kaleb Wait was also 2 for 3 with an RBI for Sleepy Eye, while Winsten Nienhaus was 2 for 3 and Owen Weiss homered and drove in two.

Blake Wales got the win on the mound in six innings, allowing three hits and four walks for one earned run while striking out six.

Waseca 5, Sleepy Eye 2

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye Legion Post 7 split a doubleheader with Waseca on Monday night, winning Game 1 by a score of 1-0 before falling 5-2 in the second game.

In the Game 1 win, Brandon Schmitz got the win in three innings of relief of Nick Mielke, allowing two hits and three walks. Mielke allowed two hits in four innings and struck out three.

Austin Uecker led Post 7 at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a run scored.

In Game 2, Mark Anderson took the loss in five innings, allowing four hits and four walks for one earned run while fanning five. Caden Evers led Sleepy Eye at the plate, going 2 for 2 with an RBI.
