SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Tigers defeated the Faribault Lakers 5-3 on Friday night in an amateur baseball game.

Jacob Poehler was 3 for 5 with three RBIs to lead the Tigers, while Tori Helget was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Mason Rummel was 2 for 3 also for Springfield and Mason Leonard was 2 for 5 with a double.

Leonard got the win in an inning of relief, allowing one walk while fanning three. Jordan Milbrath got the save, striking out three while allowing one walk. Brandon Wilhelmi started on the mound for the Tigers and allowed nine hits for three earned runs while striking out three.

Jakob Nachreiner pitched two innings also in relief for the Tigers, allowing one hit while fanning two.
