St. Mary’s girls hold off Cedar Mountain
SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s held off Cedar Mountain 67-63 in a Tomahawk Conference girls basketball game Saturday night at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s High School.
Liz Schwint led the Knights with 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Morgan Mathiowetz added 17 points and eight rebounds. Natalie Fischer had 15 points and Allie Labat had 12 points, five rebounds and three steals for St. Mary’s.
Brooklyn Diehn paced the Cougars with 20 points, while Aubrey Steffl scored 18 points. Paige Rose added 12 for Cedar Mountain, while Teresa Larson had 9 points.
St. Mary’s (16-5, 11-4) will host Nicollet on Monday. Cedar Mountain (7-15, 4-11) will host Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Monday.
