NEW ULM — Willmar scored three goals in the third period to break a 2-2 tie and went on to down the New Ulm Steel 5-2 at the New Ulm Civic Center in an NA3HL game before 650 fans.

Gus Cantwell and Hunter Nelson scored the goals for the Steel, with Lahoussine Salama adding two assists and Cooper Kantola and Nelson adding helpers.

It was a physical third period that saw three players from both teams sent to the showers with fighting majors and Willmar was the team able to score three times.

The Steel, now 5-12-2 are at Granite City Wednesday and then at Alexandria on Saturday.
