BOLD knocks out Cathedral

MANKATO — Top-seeded BOLD ended New Ulm Cathedral’s season with a 7-2 victory on Monday at ISG Field in Mankato. The Greyhounds were the No. 2 seed and they finished the season 19-6.

The Greyhounds struck first after Isaiah Rieser singled and later scored on a wild pitch to give Cathedral a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

The Warriors battled back in the second inning after Tim Peppel drew a lead-off walk and Tate Sheehan singled. Both runners scored on Drew Sagedahl’s triple to give the Warriors a 2-1 lead after two innings.

Later, Sagedahl singled and he scored later on Adan Elfering’s single. Elfering scored on Zeke Walton’s single for a 4-1 Warrior advantage after five innings.

Owen Flann was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the sixth inning. Sagedahl reached on a fielder’s choice. Terstaey’s single brought in both Flann and Sagedahl for BOLD’s next two runs. Terstaey scored on Elfering’s single, making 7-1 BOLD.

Kyle Seidl belted a lead-off single to left field in the top of the seventh inning. He scored on a BOLD error for Cathedral’s final run.
