GFW girls, Springfield boys win cross-country meet

SPRINGFIELD — The Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop girls and the Springfield boys won a Tomahawk Conference cross-country meet on Thursday.

GFW had a team score of 27 on the girls’ side and Springfield finished with 32 points. GFW’s Grace Feder took first overall in 20:39 and Sprinfield’s Lily McCone was second in 20:47. Emmaline McCone was third (22:36) and Springfield’s Skyla Dauer was fourth in 22:47. GFW’s Anna Feder finished fifth overall in 23:25 and Beth Feder was sixth in 23:39.

Springfield won on the boys’ side with a score of 19 and GFW finished with a 44.

Springfield’s Ben Potter took first in 19:50 and GFW’s Evan Elder was second in 19:55. Springfield’s Zackary Hensch was third (21:17), Caleb Hauger was fourth (21:57) and Matt Hillesheim was fifth (22:29).
