ESSIG — Courtland eliminated Essig 3-2 on Thursday in Region 2C amateur baseball action.

Chase Meyer struck out 11 in eight innings to earn the win. He allowed eight hits and two runs.

Alex Guggisberg took the loss. He struck out eight and allowed six hits and two runs in 7 1/3 innings.

Jordan Guggisberg had two hits for Essig and Kyle Helget was 2 for 4. Terry Helget drove in two runs.

Dave Hatle was 2 for 4 for Courtland and Jackson Bode was 2 for 4 with a run scored.

STARK TOWNSHIP — Stark defeated Fairfax to eliminate the Cardinals from the Region 2C playoffs on Thursday.

Adam Sellner was 2 for 4 with three RBIs and a run for Stark and Brandon Helget was 2 for 4 with six RBIs and three runs scored. Jake Mangen was 2 for 2 with two RBIs and two runs scored and Sean Mathiowetz was 2 for 3 with two runs scored.

Josh Kopacek struck out four in seven innings to earn the win. He allowed five hits and two runs.
