Tigers slug past Indians, Lamberton blanks Essig

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield defeated Sleepy Eye 25-4 in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game on Wednesday,

Branden Flock was 5 for 6 with three runs scored and four RBIs. He also had a home run. Decker Scheffler was 2 for 4 with three RBIs and Isaac Fink was 3 for 5 with three runs scored and three RBIs. Mason Rummel was 1 for 2 with four runs scored and four RBIs. Jordan Milbrath was 3 for 4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. He also earned the win, striking out seven in five innings. He allowed two earned runs (three overall) on four hits.

Carter Brinkman was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored for Sleepy Eye.

Lamberton 1, Essig 0

ESSIG — Lamberton scored a run in the top of the eighth and defeated Essig 1-0 in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball action on Wednesday.

Jacob Jenniges was 1 for 1 with a run scored for Lamberton. Essig had five hits in the game and Lamberton finished with four hits.

Brady Bierl earned the win. He went seven innings, allowed four hits and he struck out three. Adam Heiling pitched two innings and struck out two and earned the save.

Eric Scheibel pitched nine innings and took the loss. He allowed four hits and he struck out three.
