NEW ULM — On Tuesday, June 16, a local MGA State Amateur qualifier was held at New Ulm Country Club.

There were 44 players that competed for nine spots and two alternates. Of the 44 participants, three local New Ulm players entered the field. Brett Mathiowetz (73, +2) and Ben Laffen (75, +4) managed to qualify, and Logan Haala (79, +8) just missed the cut of +5. Laffen and Mathiowetz will now compete in the MGA State Amateur Championship held at Edina Country Club July 13-15.
