NICOLLET — Nicollet/Mankato Loyola defeated Immanuel Lutheran in a nonconference girls’ basketball game on Thursday.

Zoey Weller scored 12 points for the Raiders. Hayley Selby and Marah Hulke each scored 11 points.

Nicollet (2-9) is at Alden-Conger on Monday.

Redwood Valley 38

REDWOOD FALLS — Springfield’s Sydney Hauger scored 20 points and Meriah Kirschstein scored 10 as the Tigers defeated Redwood Valley in a nonconference girls’ basketball game on Thursday.

A.J. Guggisberg scored 14 points to lead Redwood Valley and Hayley Garman scored 9.

Springfield has a big Tomahawk Conference at Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Friday. The Tigers are 11-1 overall and 6-1 in the conference while MVL sits at 8-2 overall and 5-0 in the conference.

Boys’ basketball

Madelia 54, JWP 50

JANESVILLE — Madelia defeated Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton on Friday.

Ja’Sean Glover had 31 points, 21 in the first half, and five steals for Madelia. Kurt Lugo finished with 13 points and six rebounds.

Madelia (3-7, 1-2 Valley) hosts Alden-Conger on Tuesday.

Nicollet 64, Loyola 56

NICOLLET — Nicollet defeated Mankato Loyola in a boys’ basketball game on Thursday.

For Nicollet, Riley Hulke finished with 29 points, five rebounds and four assists. Colton Thomsen had 14 points and 12 rebounds and Shane Stevensen scored 9 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Girls’ hockey

New Ulm 3, Marshall 1

MARSHALL — New Ulm got a pair of power play goals and defeated Marshall in a Big South Conference girls’ hockey game on Thursday.

Brooke Arneson scored one goal and Jayda Helget scored two goals for the Eagles, who host Minnesota River at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

ST. JAMES — New Ulm Area got a fall from Colby Wenninger at heavyweight to defeat St. James 38-37 in a Big South Conference wrestling match on Thursday.

Parker Kamm earned a pin at 106 and Carter Brandes earned a pin at 120. Jackson Bode earned a pin at 132.
