Scheffler named Baseball Player of the Year by Tomahawk Conference

Springfield’s Decker Scheffler was named the Tomahawk Conference Baseball Player of the Year this past weekend.

Scheffler was also joined on the Tomahawk All-Conference Team by teammates Isaac Fink and Mitchell Leonard, both seniors, and juniors Henry Scheitel and Mason Rummel. Springfield’s Brandon Wilhelmi was also named Coach of the Year by the conference.

Making the team for New Ulm Cathedral was Josh Seidl, Aaron Portner, Chris Knowles and Sam Knowles, while Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart had Dylan Maiers, Elijah Stifter and Nathan Schultz named to the team.

Wrapping up the team was Minnesota Valley Lutheran’s Jace Marotz, Sleepy Eye Public’s Jacob Berg and Landon Strong, Sleepy Eye St. Marys’ Nick Labat, Wabasso’s Ryan Liebl and Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop’s Devon Schwarzrock.
