BUFFALO LAKE — The New Ulm girls’ golf team finished fourth on Day 1 of the Section golf meet with a 374. Minnewaska leads with a 347.

Jana Julia Boquet shot an 84, Abbey Frauenholtz shot an 86, Izzie Wolkow shot a 97 and Makena Otto finished with a 107 for New Ulm. Day 2 of the tourney is Tuesday.

Madelia competes at Valley meet

NORTH MANKATO — The Madelia boys and girls both took third out of seven teams in a Valley Conference Meet on Wednesday.

The Madelia boys were led by Colin Wilhm, who shot a 90, Carson Wihlm, who shot a 93, Cade Lunz, who shot a 95 and Colby Wihlm, who shot a 100.

For the girls, Madelia was led by Alayna Champlin, who shot a 105, Faith Bergeman, who shot a 121, Jude Frelich, who shot a 125 and Savannah Wymann, who shot a 127.
