WACONIA — New Ulm’s Kayla Goblirsch will compete in the Class A state gymnastics meet next week after she qualified in the all-around at the Section 2A meet on Thursday.

Goblirsch finished second overall with an all-around score of 36.875. She had a score of 9.425 in the vault to finish first, an 8.9 in bars to finish third, a 9.3 in beam to finish fifth, and a 9.25 on the floor to finish fourth.

Mankato West’s Taryn Sellner won the all-around with a score of 37.05

New Ulm finished third at the meet with a team score of 135.075. Mankato West won with a team score of 140.1 and Waconia was second with a 138.75.

New Ulm’s Emily Guggisberg had an 8.475 on the vault and an 8.4 on the floor. Teammate Autumn Gatzlaff had an 8.7 on the floor to finish 13th overall and an 8.4 on the vault.

Michelle Rosenhamer finished with an 8.5 on the floor for New Ulm. The state gymnastics meet begins next Friday at the Maturi Pavilion at the University of Minnnesota.
