MORGAN — New Ulm Cathedral defeated Cedar Mountain 55-42 on Thursday in a Tomahawk Conference girls’ basketball game.
Cathedral’s leading scorers were Heidi Hoffman, who scored 16 points and Sarah Mohr scored 12 points and McKenna Miling scored 10 points.
Emma Schouvieller scored 16 points and Trista Smith scored 13 points for Cedar Mountain.
Cathedral (6-13) hosts Wabasso at 8 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Mountain (3-14) plays at 6 p.m. on Friday at Springfield.
New Ulm 66, St. James 46
ST. JAMES — New Ulm defeated St. James 66-46 in a Big South Conference game at St. James.
New Ulm was led by Joey Batt, who recorded a double-double with 30 points and 10 steals. Iyanna Wieland scored 12, Ellie Bute scored 9 and eighth-grader Bryn Nesvold had 8 points.
Leading rebounders for New Ulm were Noelle Forstner with six and Nora Windschill with five.
The win improves the Eagles record to 16-3. New Ulm heads to Blue Earth Area on Saturday for another Big South Conference game at 1 p.m.

WASECA — New Ulm defeated Waseca 6-1 in Big South Conference girls’ hockey action.
