Minneota 3, Wabasso 0

MINNEOTA — Minneota swept Wabasso 25-7, 25-12, 25-23 in nonconference volleyball action on Tuesday.

Maddy Guetter had 19 kills and 17 digs for the Rabbits. Jenna Frank had 25 set assists and Megan Rothmeier had 15 digs.

Wabasso plays Cedar Mountain on Sept. 6.

Sibley East 3, GFW 0

WINTHROP — Sibley East swept Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop in 25-23, 25-14, 25-21 in nonconference volleyball action on Tuesday.

For GFW, Hannah Panitzke and Shelby Ramirez each had four kills and Miah Busse had eight digs and three ace serves.

GFW hosts St. Clair on Thursday.

RRC 3, Springfield 0

LAMBERTON — Red Rock Central defeated Springfield 25-11, 25-12, 25-13 in a nonconference volleyball match on Tuesday.

For the Tigers, Mya Mickelson had 11 kills and Taylor Augustin had three blocks. Brittany Rogotzke had eight digs.

Springfield (0-1) is at Redwood Valley on Thursday.

MVL 3, St. Mary’s 1

MANKATO — Minnesota Valley Lutheran defeated Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s 25-21, 18-25, 26-24, 25-16 in prep volleyball action Tuesday at Bethany Lutheran College.

Mara Weisensel had 12 kills, eight digs and three blocks for the Chargers and Lauren Paulson had 11 kills and 16 digs. Haley Herfendal had six kills and 17 digs and Maddie Pearson had 32 set assists. Hannah Marzinski finished with seven kills, 11 digs and three aces.

Prep Cross-Country

MANKATO — The Springfield/Cedar Mountain cross-country team took part in a meet with Mankato East High School on Tuesday.

For the girls, freshman Lily McCone had the best time for Springfield/CM with a time of 22:34, while seventh-grader Ellie Tonn was second for Springfield/CM with a time of 23:53.

For the boys, junior Mitchell Buerkle was first for Springfield/CM with a time of 16:57, while senior Elijah Kirschstein followed Buerkle up with a time of 19:27.
