MINNETONKA — New Ulm Legion Gold went 1-1 on Saturday in the Gopher Classic.

New Ulm defeated Duluth Lakeview 4-1. Hunter Ranweiler was 2 for 3 to lead Gold at the plate. New Ulm finished with seven hits in that game. Jordan Fischer was 1 for 2 with two RBIs.

Aaron Portner earned the win. He went seven innings and allowed two hits and one run. He struck out three.

Rapid City defeated New Ulm 3-1. New Ulm out-hit Rapid City 12-5 but stranded 10 runners.

Ranweiler was 4 for 4 and Andrew Peters was 3 for 4. Jaden Domeier was 2 for 4 and Fischer was 2 for 3.

T.J. Sweere took the loss. He gave up three runs and five hits.
