Prep football roundup: Greyhounds improve to 4-1, trounce Adrian 48-21, Nicollet tops Madelia

Adrian 21

ADRIAN — New Ulm Cathedral downed Adrian on Friday in a Southwest District football contest.

David Berg led the Greyhounds with 16 carries for 289 yards and four touchdowns. Mark Schommer had three carries for 47 yards and one touchdown. Nate Hauser added six carries for 52 yards and a touchdown. Josh Seidl had one touchdown.

New Ulm Cathedral (4-1) will host Wabasso (4-0) on Friday.

LSH 52, GFW 34

WINTHROP — LeSueur-Henderson defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Friday in a South Central District football game.

Evan Martin was 3-for-8 passing for 19 yards and one touchdown. Jancarlo Munoz had 15 rushes for 197 yards and one touchdown. Ryan Lavrenz rushed five times for 86 yards and a touchdown. Cole Blumhoefer had eight rushes for 37 yards and a touchdown.

McKray Schmidt had eight tackles and six assists defensively for GFW. Tylor Hopp added six tackles and eight assists

GFW (0-5) will travel to Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial on Friday.

AC/GE 24, CM/C 6

MORGAN — Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons downed Cedar Mountain/Comfrey on Friday in a 9-man South District football game.

Eli Samuelson completed a 17-yard touchdown pass to Dylan Hillesheim, which was CM/C’s lone score. Samuelson was 10-for-26 for 172 yards and one touchdown passing.

Ben Schacher rushed 13 times for 92 yards for the Cougars.

Hillesheim had four receptions for 102 yards and one touchdown. Vincent Ochs had nine tackles, two assists and one sack.

CM/C (0-5) will play at Granada-Huntley/East Chain-Truman on Friday.

Nicollet 31, Madelia 28

MADELIA — Ean Thomsen’s 77-yard kickoff return in the third quarter propelled Nicollet over Madelia on Friday in a 9-man South Central District football game.

Thomsen had a total of 188 yards passing with four touchdowns through the air.

Tory Nelson and Avery Northquest each had 15 tackles. Cooper Martens added 12 tackles for the Raiders.

Logan Anderson led the Blackhawks with 45 carries for 246 yards one touchdown by pass and two by run. Josh Sletta had 15 carries for 102 yards.

Nicollet (3-2) will host Cleveland on Friday. Madelia (1-4) will play at Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons on Friday.
