Green Lights for Veterans Day

To the editor: I would like provide an update to the Operation Green Light for Veterans program. I realize some of you may have been lighting your green lights for some hours at night (maybe even 24 hours a day) since November 7th. That’s great! Veterans Day (November 11th), I plan to turn on my green light for 24 hours, or at least until daylight on Saturday. I’m inviting you to do the same. The next day on the calendar to light your “Green Light for Veterans” would be December 7th (Pearl Harbor Day). Thanks again for all your support! Tony Miller New Ulm

To the Editor: While l was sitting on our front steps handing out candy to the many trick or treaters who were hiking down South State Street last night, I noticed a change that has come to our community. Maybe it’s only a small change but it is a change. I moved to New Ulm in 1967 as a high school teacher. I noticed the lack of diversity almost immediately. I recall some study back then that stated something like New Ulm was the least culturally diverse city in Minnesota. To the editor: Go and vote! Voting is a privilege. We elect people to represent us. Vote for those with whom you agree. Pick people who share your values. Not voting means you are not counted. To the editor: I would like to invite residents of New Ulm and Brown County to join me in Operation Green Light for Veterans. This program is sponsored by the Brown County Veterans Council and New Ulm American Legion Post 132. Show your support for our brave veterans that have served our country and kept us safe. God welcomes all

To the editor: Recently a letter to the editor was published entitled “Let Willkommen Truly Be Welcomed.” Here’s the other welcoming view for everyone in New Ulm: God welcomes all sinners who are lost and need rest. Our Father in heaven who is both just and gracious placed the punishment for our sin on His Son who carried it to the cross. That welcome never includes condoning sin. To the editor: New congressional district lines put me the 7th congressional district, represented by Michelle Fischbach. Republicans in general have left reality and their oaths behind, working against domestic tranquility and the general welfare. What about Fischbach? Fischbach disputed the Electoral College count on Jan. 6, 2021. Stop the Steal is not based on evidence.
