To the editor: Do you see the irony? President Trump’s enemies have desperately tried to find something that would exclude him from running for the presidency in 2024. To the editor: To recently read that our Minnesota Legislature has used their powers to change ISD 88 mascot name, not to mention the city name has my mind boggled. A can of worms has (now) been opened as Minnesota has numerous towns named after their origin, by indigenous native people. Examples: Minnetonka, Wabasso, Winnebago, Shakopee, Wabasha, etc. This trend of erasing sacred history, the origin of individual areas by those who were first living here is laughable. To the editor: The majority of chips are made in Taiwan and the balance in China. China wants to rule the world in every way and are preparing to take over Taiwan, thus will control all the chip production to the world to truly be “the ruler” of the world. To the editor: The 2023 session of the Minnesota Legislature has done many wonderful things, but one decision it has made is more far-reaching than it contemplated. It has used its vast powers to keep ISD 84 students from cheering for the Sleepy Eye Indians. We tell the world who we are as a country by how we come together to remember and honor our fallen heroes on Memorial Day — and every day. To the editor: One in five Americans live with a mental health condition at some point throughout their life. Most people live with the symptoms of a mental illness for ten years before seeking treatment, largely due to the stigma. The sooner people get treatment, the greater their chances of recovery. May is Mental Health Awareness Month, which makes it the perfect time to spread the word that mental health is as important as our physical health.
