Missing the point of ‘Body of Christ’ letter

To the editor: The  Aug. 2  ‘Honoring the Body of Christ’ author seems to have missed the point I was trying to make in my July 31 letter. So I will reiterate using  two perspectives. 1. The secular view: An atheist notes that one of the stated instructions for the priest is to make sure no particles from a round bread host about 3 inches diameter and about 1/16 inch thick, become lost after the host has been broken per ceremonial instructions. To the editor: Lately there have been many back-and-forth accusations that others are misinformed or ignorant or are bent on the destruction of our country. One side claims that the other is being indoctrinated by fake sources of information. Let’s set that aside for a moment. To the editor: We are Kathi and Erwin Gabriel from the Big Band Herbornseelbach. We visited New Ulm during the Bavarian Blast with our musicians. To the Editor: So a conspiracy theorist on the right wants to advance the notion of “Divine Intervention” in the former president’s surviving the assassination attempt of a 20-year-old registered Republican. I have some counter-conspiracy theories too that might need some consideration. Why was the former president not wearing his shoes during the speech that day? To the editor: Suppose a reasonably honest atheist researching the world’s religions comes upon the Roman Catholic religion and notes an unusually high number of scientifically unexplainable phenomena, especially Eucharistic miracles (search Lanciano).
