Observe Vietnam Veterans Day on Saturday

To the editor: This Saturday we observe Vietnam Veterans Day. More than 2.5 million young American men and women served there with great distinction. However when many returned home, from that harsh and hostile place, they were met often times at airports with distain and hostility. Many military returnees said that that was worse than fighting in the jungles. At least there you knew who were the enemies and how to deal with them. Grateful for pardons

To the editor: I suggest that the Feb. 12 letter of Patricia Missling would have benefited from one more review before submission. Then the tactic of implying guilt by association would not have been employed. The belief that I reject evidence would have been recognized as unfounded. New sheriff doing good

To the editor: I read the letter to the editor in the Journal saying President Trump is a dictator. He’s not. Plus they are running down Elon Musk. They are doing so much good for our country. President Donald Trump has done more in four week than the Biden Administration did in four years. They are finding out how our tax money has been spent. Wasted by the Democrats. To the editor: We are writing to express our sincere congratulations to New Ulm Medical Center (NUMC) for being named a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital in the nation by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. Recently, Fritz Busch nicely highlighted the reasons for their success, with staff emphasizing teamwork, patient care, and a genuine caring attitude.  We can confirm all of the above with a family medical emergency three years ago. Musk piling on (some) vets

To the editor: When I see television commercials pleading for donations for organizations such as Wounded Warriors, I pause to consider why such donations are necessary. I have an enduring empathy for our veterans who have selflessly given so much of themselves in service to our country. No reason for politicians to reinvent the wheel

To the editor: Why do our national politicians keep trying to reinvent the wheel? In 1997 a Republican Congress created the Balanced Budget Act. It was signed into Law by the president at the time. In 1999 our Country had a balanced budget and a surplus. We all had to bite the bullet for a year but then the rebate checks after that were nice. The director of each department was given a budget and told to make it work.
