To the editor: As we approach Thanksgiving Day, we reflect on all the Blessings the good Lord has given to the people of the United States of America. We have just celebrated Veterans Day, formerly Armistice Day. We need to thank our veterans that fought and the many that gave their lives to keep this country free. To the editor: As a constituent of Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach, I am deeply concerned about the recent House Appropriations Committee recommendation to increase Alzheimer’s research funding at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) by only $15 million in Fiscal Year 2026 — far short of the $113 million increase that NIH scientists have said is needed to sustain progress. To the editor: As I basked in the feel-good aftermath of this November’s elections, I listened to the President of retribution childishly bragging about the cancellation of democratically approved projects in Blue states. It started as a threat to voters not to elect Democrats, and now I’m sure that (the) president will follow through to cut the funding for projects which would have provided a great number of jobs.
