DFL left farmers behind
To the editor:
Frequent writer Keith Klawitter asks why there is a disconnect by farmers from the DFL (Democratic/Farmer/Laborer) party. The simple answer is the Democrat party has left the farmer behind long ago. In fact, I think the “DFL” is only used by Minnesota Democrats. Farmers generally have a good understanding of common sense, biology, and are people of good faith. The Minnesota DFL seems to struggle with these concepts.
Farmers (especially livestock farmers) have a good understanding that life begins at conception. We see no common sense in beginning a life only seeking to end it later on. Farmers have a basic understanding that it takes both a male and a female to create precious life, and our world would come to an end if we pretended that wasn’t true. Farmers also are generally not confused by male and female identities. Human beings have natural male or female sexual reproduction body parts. Pretending differently will never create life. Farmers also understand we desperately need God’s help in everything we do. Ignoring our God never ends well.
Farmers are also usually fiercely independent businessmen/women. We treasure the freedoms that are protected in the US Constitution. I believe Donald Trump tried to protect those freedoms as our 45th President and by the grace of God, will as our 47th President as well. Kamala Harris often uses the phrase “What can be, unburdened by what has been.”. This is not a statement rooted in freedom. It is a quote closer related to Socialism. When (if) Kamala speaks, many people are confused by what she just said. This has been explained away by saying she speaks “word salad”. Digging deeper into her speeches, she includes many aspects of Socialist/Communist/Dictator type government control. She knows what she is saying, but hides the truth in confusion.
Do not be fooled by Kamala’s flip flops and half truths. She says her values haven’t changed, and indeed they have not. What this nation has endured for the last 3 1/2 years is what we will get if she is elected.
I’ll take $2 gas, 4% mortgage interest, 2% unemployment, and the lowest illegal immigration in 25 years anytime. Vote for President Trump, and while you are it, give him a Republican House and Senate to work with.
