Right into foul territory

To the Editor:

It’s not surprising that a right-wing zealot would accuse media of being “in bed with Harris/Walz” since the right is anxious to get into people’s bedrooms across the sexual spectrum. As for accusing Harris/Walz of being “radical left-wing liberals,” their moderate stance only looks like far-left liberalism since the right has distanced themselves by going so far to the right that, by using a baseball analogy, they are far down the right field line into foul territory, probably beyond the confines of a major league stadium.

So it’s the Biden administration’s fault for the open borders? A check of the numbers will show that border crossings are down, and it might have been less of a problem if the bipartisan border bill had not been killed by the former President because he thought it would deprive him of one of his favorite grievances. He knew what the truth would be if the bipartisan border bill became yet another accomplishment for the Biden administration, and he didn’t want that to happen. That’s why MAGA Mike Johnson, at the former President’s behest, would not even send the bill to the house for a vote.

It’s already against the law for illegal immigrants to vote. Who believes that they want to risk their better life in our “third-world country” by trying to vote illegally? It’s the right’s continued efforts to gerrymander the Black population from fair representation and to suppress their votes that are politically motivated and standard operating procedure for the Project 2025, Whites-only agenda. Finally, the right wants to stand in judgment of people/women who want to see a restoration of Roe. The former President wants to hold women accountable on the abortion issue. He thinks they need to be punished. How about holding men accountable for their role in unwanted pregnancies? Good luck with that. It’s hard enough to keep men engaged with wanted pregnancies. (Where do the numbers on divorce and dead-beat dads stand at the current time?)

Finally, I want to respond with a resounding, “Yes! I am better off than I was four years ago.” Look around…Record Labor Day air travel and baseball and football stadiums packed with fans paying exorbitant prices. I’m not seeing a third-world America.
