Come together and get things done
To the editor:
There is a general sense of frustration right now in our country. I’ve realized that I am getting angry much more often than I did a couple of years ago. Talking with friends, I realized that other people are feeling the same. This could also be why we are seeing so much more violent behavior across the country… why?!
The news is full of the war in Ukraine, the changing environment, immigration issues, political issues, the pandemic which is winding down; but still with us. The list goes on….I am feeling helpless and frustrated because most of these issues affect me in some way; but, I can do little, to nothing, about them.
I am a consistent voter and I expect my legislators to get things accomplished. I assume that the people elected, on both ‘sides’, are competent, intelligent, compassionate, reasonable adult human beings. So, I ask myself, “Why can’t these people listen to one another, talk, debate, come to consensus, and make decisions?” I can do nothing on my own and so, I am frustrated, and have become angry.
I’m writing this letter to ask everyone who is feeling as I do, to please write to their legislators, in both the House and the Senate, Democrat and Republican, and tell them to listen, consider, debate, come to consensus and get things done! Please…
