GIBBON–DeWayne J. Blaalid, age 87, of Gibbon passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Sleepy Eye Rehabilitation Center. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Jeffrey Bovee officiating. Burial will take place in the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Ridgley Township. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1st, 2026 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.
