To the editor:

I would like to sincerely thank the City of New Ulm Human Rights Commission (HRC) for the 2021 Human Rights Award. I am humbled by the experience. I appreciate everything that the community does to promote and protect human dignity and the rights of everyone. Additionally, I am very proud of the people that I work with at the New Ulm Police Department and sincerely believe that all of them are on the front lines to provide public safety and protect human rights, during very challenging times. Law Enforcement members receiving this type of award, during the current social climate, reinforces the strength of our community partnerships that exist between law enforcement and the people that we proudly serve. New Ulm is a great place to live. I am proud to call New Ulm my home.
