The truth will prevail

To the editor:

I was pleased to read in The Journal (Friday, July 23, 2021) the editor’s View: “January 6 investigation must be held.”

Have we replaced the value of truth with lies? My mother and father told and taught me not to tell lies.

If we did we were reprimanded for sure. I read about a father who was trying to teach his 10 year old son not to lie. The son responded: “Trump does it.” Is this what is meant by the big lie?

We talk about the Constitution written for the welfare of our country. There exists another set of laws:

The Ten Commandments. The author is God. He does not tell lies. He taught us that He is the way, the TRUTH and the life. God is truth and it will prevail.

It may be helpful to read Exodus 20:17 where the words of the Ten Commandments are recorded. Take special note of the 8th one: “You shall not bear false witness to your neighbor”. God’s word is good enough for me.

We must come to an agreement as to what is the actual truth about the Jan. 6 terrible event. The truth must be placed on top of the table and not under the rug.
