St. Paul’s Lutheran brings Ninja course to New Ulm
Last week, St. Paul’s Lutheran Schools staff and volunteers began installation of a new Ninja course playground set. The course is a play feature laid out as an obstacle course. Unlike traditional playground equipment, kids using the course would run through the obstacle course, competing to complete it in the fastest time.
The course has been in the works for over two years. New Ulm’s Optimist Club helped finance the Ninja course with $30,000. Other area organizations donated money and in-kind donations to make this a reality. New Ulm is known for having an abundance of parks and playgrounds, but this is only the second Ninja course in the community. The first is an aquatic ninja course at the recreation center. The St. Paul’s Ninja course will be on the ground located by the school and will be available to the entire community. This is a great addition to New Ulm’s already impressive system of playgrounds.

New Ulm wins JUMC
The New Ulm Junior Legion Gold won the Junior Upper Midwest Classic at Johnson Park last Sunday with a win over Mankato American Junior Legion. Winning any tournament is an accomplishment in itself, but this win was extra special for New Ulm as it was the hometown team winning it all. Before Junior Gold’s win last Sunday, the JUMC, which began in 1993, hadn’t been won by a New Ulm team since 2001.

New Ulm Autofest return to fairgrounds
This Sunday, the Brown County Fairgrounds will be filled with hundreds of automobiles of nearly every make and model as part of the annual Autofest show. This is the region’s largest auto show of the year and it typically brings in car enthusiasts from across the state and even some from outside Minnesota. Part of the appeal of the show is that it is free to register a vehicle in the show and it is free for spectators to come view the cars. This will be the 23rd year of the Autofest in New Ulm and it has become one the fan favorite events in New Ulm over the summer.
